PFA Update

Kirsten Brooks, PFA President

One of the downsides of being in a small or open plan house is finding a quiet space to work or to take time out, and one of the positives is hearing the conversations between the students.

There are disappointments shared and there are reassurances and kindnesses:

‘It's ok to feel sad/overwhelmed’, ‘Look, its Spring outside … leaves, flowers, longer sunshine hours and chickens are laying again’, ‘This will pass’, ‘I’ll look after you’, ‘We’ll look after ourselves together.’

Congratulations parents on nurturing capable beings. The students’ kindness and support of one another has been heart-warming to see.

Kilvington Cares

Our super impressive cooks have been providing care to our families and staff throughout the pandemic. I can’t thank them enough for their generosity and kindness. The meals and treats have reminded us that we are not alone.

Thank you to our Kilvington Cares Coordinator Christina Welsford, and her extraordinary team of carers. And to all our families, hang in there.

Lolly station collection point for staff

PFA set up a lolly station collection point in the Staff Lounge a couple of weeks ago and very much enjoyed letting the staff know how much we appreciate their efforts and care. Thank you to all our staff.

Father's Day gift stall and Father's Day breakfast

The Father’s Gift Stall has been cancelled. I thank the many volunteers who signed up to set up and help on the day. Also, to our gift purchase team, your work has not been wasted and we look forward to holding a stall in 2022.

The Father’s Day Breakfast is unlikely now to be held at the Rosstown, and we are preparing a backup plan of a 45min session on Zoom to celebrate our families. Stay tuned for further information.
