VCAL
So when you have to complete a major project that involves team work, community collaboration, and leadership…how do you do that during remote learning and lockdown?
Never fear, the super heroes of Senior VCAL PDS persisted and found a way. After initially intending to run a Wellbeing Week for junior students (COVID no go!), then a mask making project (lockdown no go!), they planned and executed their own major projects that focused on improving wellbeing. The students learnt about the importance of wellbeing, and how they could develop their teamwork and leadership skills.
So here’s what they achieved:
- Ben organised and ran online services for his church group
- One thing Bree did was make chocolates to cheer someone up in lockdown
- Dhruvi made a vegetarian meal for her family
- Elijah helped out his family by making a meal too
- Holly, Jas and Kate checked in on the Year 12 cohort’s wellbeing
- Jordan organised care packages, and helped out by mowing and walking someone’s dog
- Lachlan surprised his mum with a delicious breakfast
- Luke organised a wellbeing exercise group
- Sharna baked wellbeing cookies
