Year 7 Art

This year our Year 7 classes experienced a mix of remote & face-to-face learning which posed challenges from the home learning environment. Nevertheless, they developed their understanding of the elements of art through a number of tasks. They built their confidence with different mediums and drawing to produce some fantastic work for 2020. Congratulations Year 7 students!

Year 8 Visual Communication & Design

Year 8 Visual Communication & Design completed a number of projects this year intended to develop their knowledge of the Elements & Principles of Design. They started the semester in remote learning, completing a booklet of activities focussed on the Elements and Principles, then re-designed the Google logo with a celebration event in mind. They finished up the term by creating their own character for a game design, based on a chosen Australian environment. Congratulations to Year 8 on their creative work for 2020.

Year 8 Art

In 2020 Year 8 Art coped fantastically with the challenges of remote learning with many students using the time at home to develop their skills in drawing with pen & ink, with pencil, and with digital methods. Throughout the term they honed their skills of illustration with various media appropriating the work of illustrators, painters, and Pop Artists. They applied these skills to their original designs for stickers, Pop Art works, and illustrations.

Year 9/10 Art

Year 9/10 Art worked on campus, then through lockdown, then back at school again. This made completing work trying for many, it has been impressive to watch these young artists persist with the development of their skills regardless of the challenges they faced. Congratulations 9/10 Art!

Year 9/10 Visual Communication & Design

Year 9 & 10 Visual Communication & Design started their course this year in remote learning, learning about the Elements & Principles of Design through a series of activities and developed a number of extension activities using the elements & principles that they explored. In Term 4 they learned technical drawing skills, developing their abilities in 1 and 2 point perspective drawing. They were given the task to re-design a classic album cover, incorporating perspective drawing into the final design, creating a fantastically diverse collection of works.

2020 Studio Arts faced a number of challenges in remote learning but rose to the challenge producing a great selection of fantastic works in variety of mediums. They have developed their skills in brilliant preparation for Year 12. Congratulations Year 11!

Year 12 Studio Art

Congratulations to the class of 2020! These incredible students endured a year unlike any other and produced a fantastic array of work developing their skills in various studio practices with a wide variety of concepts.
