Principal's Report

Term 2 week 8

Welcome to our second last Newsletter for the term. I would like to be able  say Dino has forgotten all about us, but the truth is we still receive the odd email and as this cold weather  hits us his happy snaps are making us jealous!! He appears to be continuing to enjoy the fine weather, food and wine  in southern Europe. I am not sure if he will be happy or disappointed that we are not posting his happy snaps in the newsletter.!

We are on the home run with reports and thanks  to all our teachers for the amazing job they are doing. A reminder that Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Wednesday 26 June. The Booking portal will open next Monday. Parents will be notified by email of login details, we look forward to connecting with many of our families.

School will finish at 1pm on Wednesday 26 June. The students will eat lunch together in the hall prior to being dismissed at 1pm. Those students who are unable to be collected will have a break outside from 1pm - 2pm and then be supervised in the hall  until 3.30pm. After this time students will need to be booked into OSH Club. We appreciate your cooperation and encourage all parents if possible to collect your children early.

Hero Headquarters presented valuable professional development for the staff on Tuesday. Learning modules included  First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma. It is a legal requirement for staff in schools to keep updated and we all added value to our prior knowledge and experiences.

Final hot food day for the Term. Orders close on Monday June 17 for PIZZAS.

Please order using QKR.

Winter Illnesses

We have had a number of students with Influenza and other illnesses. Just a reminder to please keep your child home if they are unwell we would like to minimise the spread of infections.

Australian Maths Competition

Just a quick reminder to students in Gr3-6, the Australian Maths Competition is still free to enter!  Just send Mr Mullavey an email and you're in!! Entries close tomorrow!

Welcome

We are excited to welcome Louise Alonso to the St Mary’s community.  She will be replacing Ms Stephanie in 5/6S from the beginning of term 3 however Ms Stephanie will be with us for a few weeks in term 3 before she begins her maternity leave. Louise will spend the last Wednesday of term with us and on that day attend the Parent Teacher conversations.

St Vincent De Paul

This year we are once again supporting the St Vincent de Paul  Winter appeal. Representing ‘Vinnies’ Brendan Leverett came to school this week to talk to many of our school leaders. We are asking the school community to donate ‘Toiletries’ and during our final mass for the term we will present these items. This is a simple way to make a difference to those people in need.

We invite all parents, families and friends to The Poor Man's Mass which will held be at 12.30pm on the last day of term. . Students  will be dismissed after mass at 1.30pm

Bring on the Holidays!
