Year 12 Physics

As part of the year 12 Physics course students study Projectile Motion. The accompanying pictures show students using ‘slingshots’ to projectile a variety of balls across the stadium floor. From the data collected heights, distances, energies involved in this aspect of motion can be analysed.

CSIRO Open Night

Meet the climate scientists at CSIRO Aspendale.

13th March, 3-7.30pm

107-121 Station Street Aspendale VIC

(enter via Robertson Parade)

No cost.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Would you like to learn about thunderstorm asthma, smoke forecasting and why we keep 40 year old air?  Are you interested in how we predict future climate?

Come and join us at our open event, for presentations, science displays and kids' activities.  Talk to scientists, ask questions and join a conversation about climate and air quality.

You will be able to

  • Find out what to expect for Victoria’s future climate
  • Discover how we use old air in tanks and air bubbles in Antarctic ice to investigate changes to our atmosphere
  • See how we forecast smoke from bushfires
  • Ask questions about the weather we experienced this summer, with a panel of air quality and climate scientists.

Schedule

3.00-6.30PM: Scientific displays; activities for all ages; short talks; tours of the Cape Grim Air Archive

6.30-7.30PM: Q&A panel discussion - 'An unprecedented summer: hot, dry and smoky'.

There will be activities for all ages; children must be accompanied at all times by an adult.
