Congratulations to the following students:

Big Band Sunset Festival

Held on the Mordialloc foreshore Saturday afternoon, Patterson River performed for the second year in the Big Band Sunsets Festival. The full band enjoyed the professional setting and community atmosphere, playing a range of jazz styles. It was a great experience and fun for all.

Top Class - Dance

On Monday 24th February, the VCE Dance class attended a dance performance at the Melbourne Recital Centre. The students had the opportunity to view 2019 A+ Solo Exam Performances to inform their own processes and expectations for the 2020 end of year exam. The students had a wonderful day together in the city.

Year 7 Instrumental Students

The music department is delighted to begin lessons for approximately 70 new students in Year 7 this coming week, starting Monday March the 2nd. Students have already met with their teachers and lessons are available to view on Compass. Please remember to sign and return the instrumental hire form at your earliest convenience and direct any and all questions to the music department. We look forward to an exciting 2020!

Come From Away

On Wednesday the Year 8 Rising Stars Group attended a magical performance of the musical ‘Come from Away.’

This musical told the true story of 9/11 and how so many people travelling to America and the planes they were travelling on were diverted to a tiny island where the people there opened their homes and showed love to the ones who were scared and tired.

Seeing this show has shown us that hard work, commitment and a bit of fun and games along the way can make a memorable performance, which is what the Rising Stars class hope to achieve this year.

On behalf of the Year 8 Rising Stars group, I would like to say a massive thank you to the two amazing teachers who put up with our singing on the bus and oversaw the entire excursion. Thank you so much to Ms Molloy and Mr Thomson as this was such a great experience.
