Swimming Carnivals 2017

Southern Christian College Interhouse Swimming

The first interhouse event under our new house structure begins next week with the Swimming Carnival programme.  Students are encouraged to support their houses with team colours:

Eden - Green

Sinai - Yellow

Calvary - Red

Galilee - Blue

Swimming Carnivals are an exciting part of the life of Southern Christian College. The introduction of four houses (Eden, Sinai, Calvary, Galilee) provides further opportunity for students to join together across grades to build community spirit in the context of friendly competition.  With regard to event entry the college aims to maximise participation and safety. To this end, students will meet in house teams this week to nominate the events they would like to enter. Secondly, to ensure safety staff will finalise event entrants based on individualised stroke event assessment by Collegiate Pool.

The programme times for the Swimming Carnival are:

Primary Swimming Carnival – Tuesday 11th April, 10.30am-12.30pm

Secondary Swimming Carnival – Wednesday 12th April, 10.30am-1pm

Infant Swimming Carnival – Wednesday 12th April, 1pm-2.30pm

All carnivals will be held at the Collegiate Pool on Davey St. (access via Macquarie St.).  Students need to come prepared with bathers, swimming cap (house colour caps available from the office on Monday), towel, drink bottle, and plastic bag for wet clothes.
