Western Adelaide Shores Education Expo

Last Tuesday night, the Western Adelaide Shores held an Education Expo at The Lakes Hotel, West Lakes. It showcased all the things that are available in public education in our area. Thanks to Chris Philbrook and Luke Springer who organised the fantastic interactive Primary STEM display. If you missed it, stay tuned for next year.

Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation Week was acknowledged by Grange Primary School with several events and activities. These included a visit to the Kaurna Cultural Centre by the Nunga students, where they enjoyed various activities and a BBQ lunch on the lawn.

Irene Zarlenga, a Year 2 teacher here at Grange, gave a talk in our staffroom when she shared her teaching experiences and personal journey within the indigenous community and how she links indigenous teaching within the curriculum. Irene is one of the many passionate teachers at Grange who incorporates indigenous culture in their classroom learning.

An assembly was organised and run by Nick Warren and our Student Leaders. It began with Jackson presenting the Acknowledgement to Country followed by a song by Jett, one of our very talented students. Parent Danielle gave a talk sharing her story and perception of Reconciliation Week and engaged the students in repeating words in her language.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in making Reconciliation Week so successful.
