MPower Girls
Last week some of our year 7 students were involved in the MPower Girls program, tackling issues such as bullying, cyber-bullying and cliques, and sparked conversation around how girls interact with one another. The girls were encouraged to work together to discuss how they would resolve hypothetical situations that can occur within friendship groups. Using visual references and role plays they were able to develop their skills to best respond and diffuse bullying behaviour.

MPower Girls
On Thursday the 19th of July for the first two periods approximately twenty girls from year 7 were involved in MPower Girls, which was run by Miss Sayer and Miss Lazarus. We focused on our relationships with others, bullying and cliques. I learned how to respond to teasing and exclusion and we looked at common scenarios that can happen in high school. We created our perfect friend and explored the qualities we wanted them to have. We then created an island for the different social groups and what they would do on the island.

Taipei Youth Folk Sports Group Performers
On Thursday, 26 July, the Taipei Youth Folk Sports Group performed for our students in the Performance Centre a variety of acts, such as Chinese Yo-Yo and Diabolo. The cultural performance was brilliant and provided more insight into intercultural understanding for our students.
