Year 8 Study Skills
All Year 8 students recently participated in a study skills session run by Elevate Education on ‘Time Management.’ During their Personal Learning class the students were shown how to set up a study timetable, how to use the timetable to make it successful, how to break down tasks and assignments into manageable steps and the difference between revision and homework. The Year 8 teachers will be reinforcing these principles in all of their classes to further support your daughter with her study habits.Your daughter should have a study timetable from the session to show you.
The Year 8 parents who attended the Elevate Education Parent Night thought the presentation was very worthwhile. Some of their feedback included:
“Very practical”
“Excellent”
“Very informative and useful information”
“I can’t wait to apply some of these ideas at home with my child”
Year 7 Camp
Year 7 camp is in full swing with 7A, D and F returning Wednesday and 7B, C, E and G away at the moment. So far there have been plenty of positive attitudes, enthusiasm and fun.
A huge thank you must go to Mr Philip Hull and Mrs Petra Witt for their organisation of the camp. This is also extended to all staff who attended. It is a big sacrifice for staff to attend as they leave their families, prepare classes which will be missed and then be on duty caring for your daughters. Thank you to the families who took the time to thank our staff.
