Water Polo News

National Water Polo Representatives Brayden Addison and Jesse Taylor.

Congratulations Brayden and Jesse and

Welcome Matthew

Congratulations  to Year 12 student Brayden Addison on making his National League Water Polo debut two weeks ago against  the Balmain Tigers WPC.  Congratulations also to Year 11 Jesse Taylor, who debuted last year, in scoring his first National League goal in the very same game.

Fast forward one week and local team, the Adelaide Jets, played Hunter WPC , from Newcastle , NSW.

It was with pleasure that we welcomed Matthew Farmer, pictured above, to Adelaide.  Matthew, an alumni of Blackfriars' Dominican sister school, Fenwick High School in Chicago, is spending the summer 'down under'  playing for Hunter.  As coincidence would have it, Brayden and Jesse, who were hosted at Fenwick for 5  weeks in 2016 played against the older, more experienced Matthew.

Having just finished 4 years on a Water Polo scholarship at the University of California LA , Matthew was very keen to visit Blackfriars as part of his weekend in Adelaide. Matthew did a whistle stop tour of Adelaide on Saturday, even taking in a half of the Old Scholars football trial game !

It was great to see Matt in Adelaide but hopefully, given that he scored 6 goals in 2 games against the 'Jets', he will be playing for Adelaide next time he comes to town !
