Secondary Co-Curricular Report

Due to the Adelaide Cup Long Weekend, there will be no sport played on Friday 9 March or Saturday 10 March.

 

SOCCER TRIALS

Soccer trials for the 2018 Season for the First XI, Senior and Middle teams will commence soon. Once finalised, notices will be placed on SEQTA informing students and parents of trial dates. Training will occur on the Blackfriars back oval from 3:30pm to 4:45pm. Students must wear shin pads and boots.

 

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Congratulations to Isaiah Lee on his Table Tennis success. Isaiah was awarded the Jim Aufderheide Trophy and Max Medwell Trophy from Table Tennis South Australia (TTSA) for his performances at State, National and International levels.

 

  • Jim Aufderheide Trophy – Best Junior Player, taking into account State, Australian and International performances, during the past twelve months.
  • Max Medwell Trophy – Outstanding male player, taking into account performances in match play competition, other than the highest grade of play, conducted by TTSA, including performances in tournaments.

CONGRATULATIONS - SECONDARY SWIMMING TEAM

Congratulations to all members of the Blackfriars Secondary Swimming Team ( listed below ) who represented Blackfriars with both pride and distinction at the South Australian Secondary Schools Swimming Carnival at the State Aquatic Centre, at  Marion on Tuesday 6 March 2018.

 

Despite not having competitors in 8 events, due to the Year 9 camp, we finished 5th out of 10 schools, ahead of notable schools such as Pulteney Grammar, CBC, Mercedes and Brighton High School .

 

Thank you to the many parents who attended, particularly those who assisted as timekeepers.

 

Particular thanks also to co captains Brayden Addison and Jesse Taylor for their leadership and to the boys noted below in achieving first place in their respective events.
