Principal's Report

Dear Collingwood College,

We made it! 2021 has been a hugely challenging year. We have embraced learning at many different levels; in the classroom, in the playground, at home, in the community, and via online forums. Our year was again impacted by COVID-19. But again, the real sense of community that we are fortunate to have here at Collingwood College has sustained us all throughout this year.

Please join me in thanking our leaders, teachers and wonderful ES staff for their wonderful work throughout the year, particularly in the remote and flexible learning periods. I’m sure you would agree, your children have been in great hands!

Wurun Senior Campus is on track to welcome students and teachers for Term 1, 2022. Wurun Senior Campus, the new senior secondary campus for Collingwood College and Fitzroy High School, is in the final stages of construction. We expect to have the handover completed by mid-January and will be opening doors for students on the first day back in 2022.

Farewells for some of our staff are top of mind this week also. Our school is only as successful as the quality of our staff, and we are sad to see them go but excited about their new adventures. Please see our outgoing list below. We are grateful for their contribution to Collingwood College. Students, parents, and staff alike have benefited from their knowledge, support, and commitment to our students.

In response, Collingwood College has been busily advertising for new teachers and conducting interviews. We hope to be making announcements early in the new year, which will include the announcement of the new Year 9 & 10 Education and Programs leader.
