Years 7 - 10 OARS Testing
Shortly, all students in Years 7-10 will complete OARS online testing. Testing at this time of the year is purposeful as we want to identify any gaps in learning due to Covid interruptions. Testing occurs in Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Maths, General Ability and Science:
ACER’s Progressive Achievement approach is used in thousands of schools in Australia and around the world. The approach focuses on assessing and monitoring student growth over time and is underpinned by an understanding that students of the same age and in the same year of school can be at very different points in their learning and development.
Results from this testing period will help inform early interventions for 2022 in a range of key learning areas. At the centre of each PAT test is a described proficiency scale, providing both quantitative and qualitative data on student performance, making the PAT tests ideal for understanding students’ current strengths and weaknesses, informing teaching and learning, and monitoring progress over time.
Students will sit one test per day in timetabled classrooms to adhere to Covid Level 3 guidelines.
