Resource Centre

The Resource Centre has been participating in the NAIDOC Week celebrations with a display of literature, both fiction and non-fiction, by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors, highlighting the NAIDOC Week theme “HEAL COUNTRY”. Aboriginal artefacts gifted by Uncle Michael Lyons are also a part of the Resource Centre display. The celebrations were postponed from July due to health risks associated with Covid-19.

We have the opportunity to celebrate the First Nations’ cultural knowledge as we are invited to embrace understanding of Country in order to protect and heal the lands, waters, sacred sites and First Nations’ cultural heritage.

NAIDOC Week calls us to come together to celebrate the rich history, achievements and cultural knowledge of First Nations peoples and their deep connection to Country which sustains life. The display in the Resource Centre will continue beyond the designated NAIDOC Week for members of the College community to visit.
