2026 Student Allowances 

Secondary Assistance Scheme

Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS)

The Western Australian Government, through the Department of Education, provides financial support to eligible parents/guardians through the Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS). If you have a student/s enrolled in Years 7 to 12 studying a full-time secondary course at a Western Australian non-government school and hold one of the concession cards listed below, you may be eligible to a to apply for up to $350.00.

 

  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card

  • Veterans' Affairs Pensions Concession Card

     

The SAS consists of two allowances:

  • $235 Education Program Allowance (payment made to the school)
  • $115 Clothing Allowance (payment made to the parent/guardian).

 

How to Apply

Applications can be made in two ways:

 

  1. Complete the online form linked below and email the completed form to AccountsR@tkc.wa.edu.au. You must also include a copy of both sides of your current concession card with your submission.

  2. Collect a hard copy of the application form from Reception and return the completed form in person, ensuring you bring along your concession card.
