Parent Parking / Student Drop Off and Pick Up Instructions

Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

The following information is a guide for all families. The safety of all children is a priority at all times. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience with these new procedures, as it is critical to the safety of all our students, staff and parents. Whilst all attempts will be made to avoid congestion and optimise traffic flow, parents should be prepared for longer waiting periods during peak times.

Arrival Times | Students should only arrive at the college from 8am.

Departure Times | All students should depart the school grounds by 3.25pm unless they are participating in an official supervised after-school activity or club. (Note: siblings of students in clubs must be collected by 3.25pm)

Years 1-6 | Primary Campus

  • Drivers may park in the bitumen primary carpark (limited bays) or the limestone carpark between campuses and walk/collect their child to and from class.
  • Kiss and Drive zone in the Primary Car park. Please note the one-way direction of traffic and abide by the Kiss and Drive procedures listed below. Drivers must give way to vehicles on the teardrop entry.
  • From Week 2 we are unable to take students over to meet siblings in secondary, as this has made the group very large and unsafe to manage with 1 staff member. This service will only be provided for students who catch the bus or who have siblings in the ELC. Please organise for secondary students to come to primary if you wish to pick them up together.  If you wish your child/ren to be part of this, please click here to register.

Pre-Kindy, Kindy and Pre-Primary | Main Campus

  • Your child must be dropped off and collected in person from the Early Learning Centre by an authorised parent/carer or a nominated older sibling (Year 5 or above only).
  • Parents may park in the limestone carpark areas and walk across the designated crosswalk.

Years 7-12 | Main Campus

  • Parents may park in the limestone or grass carpark area and walk across the designated crosswalks to collect and escort their child to the car.
  • Parents are encouraged to pick their child up from the Kiss and Drive area on the Secondary Campus.

Combined Primary/Secondary Student

  • If driving, we recommend that children in Years 1-6 be collected first from the Primary School as you cannot access the Primary School carpark from the Secondary School. You may prefer to park in the limestone carpark in between the campuses to facilitate pick up and drop off.

Kiss and Drive Zone Procedures

  • Kiss and Drive zones are officially open between 8.00am and 8.25am and 3.10pm and 3.25pm.
  • If there are no available spaces in the Kiss and Drive zone for a vehicle, drivers must continue to do laps around the perimeter of the carpark until a space becomes available to avoid traffic jams and congestion or park in the limestone parking areas and escort/collect their children by foot using the designated manned crossing areas.
  • Drivers must never park and leave their vehicle for any length of time in the Kiss and Drive zone.
  • Children must enter/exit the vehicle from the footpath side.
  • Drivers must wait until their children are properly restrained before moving off.
  • Drivers must never double park or make a U-turn close to the drop off/pick up zone.
  • Drivers are strongly encouraged to be responsible for ensuring their child is away from the carpark before they drive away at both drop off and pick up.

General Safety Procedures

  • Drivers should observe 10km/h speed limit when on College grounds.
  • Drivers, parents, carers and students are strongly encouraged to use the designated crosswalks when crossing roads and stick to the paved footpaths.
  • Drivers, parents, carers, and students should respectfully obey all instructions and directions given by the supervising staff members.
  • Drivers should observe the designated Parent with Prams and Accessible Parking bays.

Picking Up Outside School Grounds | We remind parents not to park on the verge of private residences or block driveways. Please ensure your child uses the manned crosswalk when crossing Bertram Road.

Important Reminders:

  • Patience is key.
  • Pay attention to signage and staff direction.
  • Plan and discuss your drop off and pick up plans with your child and advise them of relevant safety considerations.
