Year 3/4–Celebrating Learning

3/4 - Mainstream

 Students are learning about the structure of a narrative in Reading and Writing. We are learning from the authors as experts and then planning our own narrative pieces following the same structure. In Mathematics, students are learning all about place value by making, naming, comparing, ordering, rounding and renaming 2, 3, 4, and 5 digit numbers.

Norse Mythology

Our first Main Lesson this year has been based around Norse Mythology. For most of the students the stories are new, and tell of a time long ago before the world as we know it existed. Class 5 students have revisited some old favourite characters, listened to new tellings of some familiar stories, as well as some new ones too. Students have illustrated some Gods & Giants from the narratives, explored characterisation, moulded beeswax, and have written messages in Elder Futhark; the old Norse runic language.
