Working Together

1 and 2 - Steiner

Class Two began our year with a Deadly Days Main Lesson story about Pakanui and the Whale. Class One’s Deadly Days Main Lesson was explored through our Birds of the Bush story. Working with a 3-day rhythm and a multimodal approach, we explored our school’s Deadly Values through story, song, movement, team building games, whole class conversations, writing and play. We are now into our Form Drawing Main Lesson in Class One and our Animal Fables Main Lesson in Class Two.

So far this Term, Class One and Two have been developing rich morning circles, establishing our daily rhythms, and focussing on taking particular care with our level of detail and thought that goes into our work. We are developing our memory and drama skills by enacting Main Lesson stories through short plays as well as through learning songs and poetry. Students are expanding their friendships through Most importantly, we are developing our “can do attitudes” in relation to dealing with challenges and having a go as part of our learning journey.
