Legal Studies excursion to Margoneet Prison

As part of the Year 11 Legal Studies course, students went out earlier this week to visit Margoneet Prison and learn more about Victoria’s penal system.

As well as being shown the day-to-day functions of the prison, students interviewed actual prisoners about their sentences and their view on the legal system.

The Legal Studies cohort were a credit to the school, displaying considerable maturity, empathy, and insight, across the course of the day. This excursion will be complemented by a visit to the Melbourne County Court later in the term.
