Principal's Report

End Of Term

As this is the final whole school newsletter for term 1, I would like to congratulate our students on the effort they have put into the quality of their work and the management of their behaviour. It is a short term which has helped as our students can often become tired towards the end of an 11 week term. I hope to see parents, carers and friends at our end of term assembly next Thursday. This celebration of student learning will commence at 9.15am in the Gymnasium at the Bundoora Campus.

School Building Works

Law Architects presented Stage 1 of the upcoming building works, as well as the overall school masterplan, to School Council on Monday evening. This exciting project was approved by School Council and it is expected that construction will commence at approximately this time next year. Stage 1 of the works will involve a two-storey building at the back of the school where the existing green storage containers are situated. The building will contain seven classrooms and office spaces with accessability via both stairs and a lift. A feature of the building will be a food technology room adjoining a café that will feature both indoor and outdoor eating areas. This will provide opportunities for our students to work and train in Hospitality.

The advantage to this design is that the only building that will not be able to be used during the construction period is the double portable building in the corner of the school near the bus shed.

North East Link

Last week I met with with Paul Johnson, the Acting Principal of Watsonia PS, and two representatives from the North East Link on the Watsonia PS oval. The good news is that the road will not impact on the Watsonia Campus. Traffic flow will be improved in the surrounding areas with Grimshaw St to go under the new road.

School Communication and the Use of Compass

It is important that all parents log into Compass so our school can communicate effectively with you. If you have any questions regarding Compass, or are having difficulty in logging-on, then please ring Karen Jordan at our school on 94673972. The Compass log-on can be found at https://concordsch-vic.compass.education or through the ‘Compass Parent Portal’ link on our website.

Principal's Award

The Principal's Award goes to Elia Elia

Elia is a happy and caring student who has made many friends in the classroom, as well as in the playground. It is a pleasure to see his smiling face each day. Elia’s positive attitude and his eagerness to learn makes him an excellent role model to all students in Secondary 7/8. He will always volunteer to help other students within the classroom.

Elia particularly enjoys Maths, ICT and our current Integrated Unit on Australian Colonies. Elia gives everything his best effort and works hard all the time. Congratulations Elia, you are a worthy recipient of the Principal’s Award!
