Secondary 9-10

Fit For Life Program

This has been an exciting term for students in Secondary 9-10.  As well as participating in our usual Fit for Life program where students experienced  Adventurous Journeys and Interschool Sport.  We have reinvigorated the program and students have had opportunities to participate in Baseball, a variety of indoor sports such as soccer and rock climbing, Life Saving and Taekwondo.

STEAM Program

We have also started our brand new STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, Maths.  Students have been able to elect to study one subject in depth over this term and at the end of next term they will join an interdisciplinary group to work on solving a problem, which will be designing and creating games/toys.  Students will use the skills they have been learning this term in either; Electronics, Coding and Robotics, Materials Design and 3D Printing to help them create a game.  The group will then use their Media, Music, Photography and Screen Make Up/Special Effects to market their product.  Keep a look out for some fantastic new games and toys coming out soon.

Year 9 Camp

The year 9 students will be meeting on Friday to hear all about their upcoming camp to Nilahcootie.  They will learn about the challenging and fun things they can do, they will meet the staff and find out more about camp life and working as a team.  We can’t wait to hear all about it when they return.
