English Summer Reading

English Summer Reading

It is important for students to read over the summer holidays to continue their reading improvement.

Students who are going into Year 7 and 8 should read Just Right Texts over the break for at least ten minutes per day. In 2019 students in Year 7 and 8 will not read a set text for English, instead they will read a selection of mentor texts to support their English learning. In Year 7, we will focus on themes around relationships and friendship. In Year 8, we will focus on tales of mythology around the world. On the booklist, we have listed a levy to support the selection of these mentor texts.

Students who are going into Years 9 – 12 should be reading widely and reading their set texts for 2019. Most of the texts on our booklist are easy to borrow from the library or purchase second hand if you seeking a copy.
