Golf Pro
Congratulations to Shanaiah Fernando, Year 11, who was selected as a member of the School Sport Victoria 2016 17 Years’ Golf Team. Her selection was earned through the Schools Championships held at Metropolitan Golf Club and was also endorsed by Golf Victoria’s Development Team.
The team then competed at the School Sport Australia National Championships in South Australia.
Team Achievements
- Gold Medal for the Performance Golf Shield (Boys & Girls Aggregate Match-play). Team Vic claiming this title for the first time in history!
- Gold Medal as a team member in the SSA Stroke-play Competition. The Victorian girls claiming the title for the second year in a row.
- Silver Medal as a team member in the School Sport Australia Match-play Competition.
- Won the David Bottroff Southern Shield, a competition between the Southern States.
Personal Achievements
- Silver Medal in School Sport Australia Girl’s Stroke-play Championship.
- Following on from her individual success in the Stroke-play Competition, Shanaiah was a leading contributor to match-play results winning four contests for the week. Her consistent performances were instrumental in the team claiming many honours.
Silver Medallist
Year 11 student, Quinn Kane, recently represented Victoria at the annual School Sport Australia 19 Years and Under Football Championships in Perth in August. Victoria came away with a silver medal. An outstanding result. Congratulations Quinn.
