NAIDOC Week 2020

Many classroom's throughout Monash SDS engaged in a range of projects and activities that celebrated NAIDOC Week last week. The acronym NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee and the theme for NAIDOC Week 2020 is 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. This week has given students and staff the opportunity to learn about and recognise First Nations peoples that have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC Week activities have included listening to Indigenous Australian music, reading Dreamtime stories and completing art activities. Below are photos from an art activity Group 10 completed during this week. Students created some beautiful Australian Aboriginal Flags by working with the colours black, yellow and red.
