Art  & Technology

Art Competition

During Term 3 students participated in an Art competition “Speaking for the Planet”.  Students created high quality pieces of Art based on the theme “I AM WATER”.  We were blown away with the effort and quality of the Art.  Well done to all students who participated.

Product Design Technology - Wood

This year has certainly presented challenges for technology students. Students in Year 9 and 10 electives had at least a term of practical work as did all of the Year 7 students.

In that time students were able to design and produce one major project. Year 10 students completed a joinery unit and produced a serving tray.  Year 9 students produced a caddy for storing electronic equipment and the Year 7 students were able to design and produce a laminated plastic key tag and a small wooden storage box.

The Year 7 classes were very enthusiastic about the practical nature of the course and loved producing their key tags and boxes. All students learned about the importance of safe working practices in the workshop.

VCE students produced some fine pieces even though their production time was significantly less than they would normally have.  A manual lathe, dog kennel, double garden seat and a coffee table were among the some of the pieces produced.
