What's Happening

ART
All classes have begun art sessions. Art smocks are a necessity in some sessions, as students will be using products which will stain clothes. Next week the art teachers will be sorting out the smocks from 2016. Some students may find that their previous smock does not fit and needs replacing. Prep students and new students to MPS will need to bring a named smock to school and it will be passed on to the art teachers.
These are some examples of appropriate smocks.
Thank you,

BOOK CLUB NEWS
Book Club catalogues have been handed out this week! Keep an eye out for great-value-for-money books starting at just $2.00.
Parents have adapted to ordering and making payments online using the LOOP System (Linked Online Ordering & Payment) very well. Over 90% of parents are now using this system and this streamlines the process, enabling books to be distributed faster. This year all orders are to be made online. If you have any questions about this, please talk to Amanda in the IRC.
Scholastic Book Club is very important to our library, providing us with thousands of dollars in reward money to spend on books for our collection.
As our orders are being ordered online now, parents will be happy to know about two new changes to LOOP (Linked Online Ordering & Payment).
At the order review step in the process, LOOP customers will now be advised how much they have saved (price versus RRP) and how many rewards their order has earned the school. A hover message appears to explain how savings are calculated. It is always nice to know how much you have saved and lovely to know how much you have helped out the school with rewards points!
Another change is having an option to have gift items shipped to your home for a $4.95 handling charge, even if the school order has not been placed or is still open. So if you are planning for birthdays and Christmas, this could be a great option.
On behalf of our school, we would like to thank students and families for supporting our Scholastic Book Club which the school provides throughout the year.
