From the Assistant Principal

EDUCATION SUPPORT TEAM

The year has commenced with a happy and harmonious tone with both staff and students collaborating together to develop essential agreements. Education support staff support our teachers and this year we have two new assistants joining our team.

The main role of the education support staff is to provide support to teachers working with students who have additional needs. Education support staff work under the direction of the teacher so may work with an individual child, or can work with a small group of children with similar skills or needs.

INTRODUCING OUR SUPPORT TEAM

Welcome to Murrumbeena Primary, Anca Herman and Glenys Piatella, and welcome back Chris Trotter  and Allyson Bruce.

“I get a great deal of satisfaction when the students master a skill which has required lots of practice, lots of determination, but they keep on persisting.”

Glenys Piatella

"It's the ah-ha moments, laughter, sincerity, the unexpected that keeps me on my toes; being able to adjust in a moment's notice, accepting and giving hugs, showing forgiveness, being a role model, changing the world ... one child at a time."

Anca Herman

"I love the diversity and the rewards of my role at MPS , whether it’s in the classroom, school camps or excursions and supporting our students in collaboration with our teachers to assist our children in developing their confidence and skill set as they navigate their way through the jungle!"

Chris Trotter

“I love working with the children and seeing their smiles and happy faces when they accomplish things. I love the variety of the role: being able to work in different classrooms with different teachers and students, and getting to know the parent community. Our school is a harmonious place to be”.

Allyson Bruce
