Preps Update
Term 4 Week 4
This week in Literacy, preps have been exploring the features of non-fiction texts and have been taking simple notes about animals from information presented to them. Students have also worked on practising their reading skills and build their independent reading stamina.
In numeracy we have looked at what equals means and sharing amounts fairly into equal groups, collecting and sorting data and measuring the area of shapes using informal units.
We continue to revisit the Tribes agreements, using a growth mindset and working cooperatively in groups.
PAC Update
In Maths PAC have been learning about Yes and No questions. We collected and organised data in a different way.
Our Tribes Program
We each coloured our own set of 'Tribles'. The Tribles are five fuzzy little creatures with different facial expressions. We can point to the character that best represents how we are feeling at the moment and then have a discussion about it. Verbalizing our feelings and emotions in appropriate ways is something we will continue to work on.
Students thoroughly enjoy reciting daily self-affirmations. This helps to improve our wellbeing, boost self-esteem, and encourage creative thinking.
Remember we need to wear our hats in term 4 when outside and we also need our drink bottles. Next Wednesday we will be making our animal habitat dioramas, so please remember to bring in any empty shoeboxes you have for us to utilize.
PKS Update
PKS have enjoyed practising our note taking skills about Australian animals and habitats. We are also really good at sharing objects into equal groups.
PAF Update
Drawing animals with chalk for our personal writing experience
focussing on correct sentence structures.
