Guinea Pigs visit Foundation

Foundation classrooms were as quiet as mice (ah-hem guinea pigs) when Brownie and Burger came to visit.

This term Foundation students have been investigating animals, both great and small. Guinea pigs need a quiet environment, pellets to eat, water to drink and when holding a Guinea pig they like it if you hold them close to your body with an arm underneath for support.

After watching, listening to, patting or cuddling our guinea pigs, students brainstormed adjectives to describe them. Students then wrote about their experience using descriptive language and detailed drawings.

We enjoyed having the furry visitors in our classrooms so much! You will be able to see Burger and Brownie at their enclosure behind the chicken coop, between the 5/6 classrooms and the hall. They are spending more break times out there as they adjust back into school life.
