Principal's Update

'Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness.'

Anne Frank

DREAM of possibilities.

BELIEVE in yourself.

ACHIEVE great things.

"Let your light shine" Matt 5:16

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,

Here we are right on the cusp of being back to school, back together and back to re imagining what community connection will look like for us over the coming 12 months. For each of us and for our families, finding that connection has been challenging because we have been limited for 2 years in how we gather together, meet new families, make new friends, celebrate birthdays, organise play catch ups for our children, even coming together here at school for social events has been impossible for 2 years in a row (even though we squeezed in that super Mother's Day Brekkie in May).

So, please travel into the coming weeks with an open mind knowing that the path we have travelled has been different, knowing that connecting has been different and that getting back on the pathway to social interaction will take time. So breathe deeply and go easy on yourselves as you model and reinforce positive messages to your children over the coming weeks. Like the road map I have shared previously, expect some bumps and detours and know that our school has procedures in place to support you all.

On Tuesday night we welcomed all new Prep 2022 families via zoom at our Prep 2022 Information session. With two very small post COVID classes planned for next year we are excited to be able offer a solid level of support for all learners and a careful transition into school. We welcome many new families to Fatima and we hope that their journey with us is one that supports faith formation, learning and wellbeing, all of which were emphasised so well at Tuesday's session with our brilliant team of teachers and leaders. We look forward to delivering Prep show bags, opening up the Prep site and opening up our hearts to a whole new bunch of Preppies!

I am delighted to present to you our Strategic School Improvement Plan for the next four years.  This visual version has been created in a simplified way to share with the wider community.

This Strategic Plan is the culmination of rich discussion, collaboration and discernment by all staff, parent focus groups, student focus groups and is informed through a rigorous review process. It is built upon our achievements and proud history, and is guided by the School’s Vision, Mission and Values.

Four Strategic Intentions, each with underlying goals and outcomes, outline the future direction of the School with a focus on continual improvement, self reflection and innovation, as we strive to provide the knowledge, skills and experiences today’s students need to thrive in tomorrow’s world.

It is a summary of the School’s priorities and aspirations for the next four years, to be achieved in partnership with our students, families, staff and the wider Our Lady of Fatima Parish and community. Our full Strategic plan further outlines specific goals for each year in greater detail. This forms the Annual Action Plan for each individual year. You will also find the Strategic Plan on our website on the welcome page.

As always go gently and look after your families with the greatest of care. We hope that the long weekend brings you rest and time with your children in sunshine and good company.

God Bless,
