Year 12 Media Class

That’s A Wrap

We shot, panned, dollied, edited, acted, lit, wrote, sang, laughed, cried….

Year 12 VCE Media class of 2021. Pictured are some of the incredible students I had the privilege of teaching Media this year. Some students were doing unscored assessment so were not present for this photo. Some simply did not make it this far and their journey has taken a different path.

As with all students in 2021, it was a disruptive and difficult year. This is more so for final year students as they prepare to face the world outside of public education – a 13 year journey since beginning primary school!

I have taught my students many things this year – that’s my job. But what will stay with me about this cohort is what they have taught me. Every single student has been respectful and maintained positive relationships with me and everyone in the class. There was never any hint of maliciousness or negative behaviour. Even in such difficult circumstances, everyone was consistently good natured which always made teaching this class a lot of fun. I will always think of this when I reflect on my own behaviour and actions.

So thank you year 12 Media class of 2021. I sincerely wish you every success with whatever you choose to do with your life.
