Theatre Studies Students Perform their Monologue

On Tuesday 12th October, our Unit 4 Theatre Studies students completed their Monologue Performance Exam which was assessed externally at the Capital Theatre.  

 

Each student had to select a monologue script from a list provided by the VCAA for this exam. They then had to apply the knowledge and skills of interpreting this script into a performance or design presentation, justifying their decisions in an oral interpretation statement immediately following their presentation. Each presentation had strict timing requirements – 2 minutes each to set up and pack up in the examination space and 8 minutes to complete the presentation and oral interpretation statement. 

 

In their oral statement, the students had to explain how they had used research to justify their interpretive choices in two production roles.
