BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

How wonderful it is to be back at school! There are so many terrific ways we can help our environment as we return to school, but it has been a while, so check out the list below of four simple ways you can help out!

NUDE FOOD

Ditch the wrapper and bring nude food, make use of reusable containers and wraps, pack foods that don’t have wrappers and use reusable utensils instead. Check out this site for some inspiration!

DITCH THE CAR

Ride, scoot or walk to school and reduce the impact on our environment. Ride2work day is coming up on November 10th so why not get onboard and ride/scoot/walk to school. You could come to school with a friend and have some fun on the way!

USE THE RIGHT BIN

When you are in the classroom check you are using the right bin. We have landfill (red) and paper (blue) bins as well as compost bins in each classroom space. The less we can add to landfill the better so be sure to place paper in the blue bin and your food scraps in the compost.

SOAK UP A BIT OF NATURE

When you head outside for lunch and recess, take a moment to soak in the beauty of the trees in and around our school. Remember any action we can take to reduce our impact in the environment helps these trees (and so many more!).

NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK 8 - 14 NOVEMBER

National Recycling Week, established by Planet Ark in 1996, is held every year during the second week of November (8th to 14th of November 2021). This year we're celebrating its 25th anniversary! Therefore, the focus of 2021 is:

Celebrate National Recycling Week YOUR way!

Whether your council hosts an event or trivia night, or focuses on educating residents or students on the materials that are important to your area, we encourage you to celebrate in a way that is meaningful to you.
