The reality of this final year of secondary education is settling in for some of our Year 12 students. It is very important for VCE students to continue to make plans for reaching their goals. This week in Mentor Group lesson students completed their Career Action plans. For many students there have been some pathways changes from what they first committed to at the Deakin Day excursion, early in February.

Here are some of their thoughts;

This week I am flying up to Canberra, then driving inland to Orange, New South Wales to attend the Charles Sturt University Open Day. I will be exploring the University for physiotherapy and other related courses. I hope this will give me an insight as to whether I want to move to Orange and attend the University in 2017. Year 12 is coming so close to the end it is kind of nerve racking. It sets into your thoughts that all this schooling is about to turn into reality. We already have people we love leaving and going into the real world, and it is a causing a mixture of emotions. I am both excited, scared and dreading the end of the year! Tatum Hordern

We would like to say farewell to Lochie Voogd who starts his new life as an apprentice for a carpentry company. Through all of Lochie’s schooling life he has made many life-long friends and his full of life attitude will be missed here at school. Congratulations to Lochie on his new career and good luck with everything in the future. All your friends here at Wantirna are proud of you.  Brooke Priest

This past week we have said farewell to Josh Adams of Year 12 as he leaves us to pursue a full-time apprenticeship in his chosen field. We hope you have enjoyed your many years at Wantirna College and wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Zac Brasher
