Term 3 Music

Term 3 has been a busy term in the Music Department with lots of exciting performance opportunities! The Choir recently performed at the Mornington Peninsula Choral Festival at the Peninsula Community Theatre, and shared the evening with a number of choirs from schools on the Peninsula. In a similar fashion, the Concert Band students participated in the Padua Bands Festival, which allowed them to rehearse during the day with other schools in sessions run by members of the Navy Band! The day finished with a performance by the three separate bands, playing all of the pieces they had learnt on the day.

The piano and vocal students also had the opportunity to perform both solos and duos in their instrument-specific recital evenings earlier in the term, which are a wonderful opportunity for the students to perform in a more intimate setting. The Music Theatre Program students are very excited to have their new t-shirts to wear, designed by Year 10 student Tyler Leach, as they plan their own showcase to be performed for parents and friends early in Term 4. Students are required to prepare their own group performances, MC the evening, plan the lighting/sound/costumes and are working hard to organise a wonderful show!

The Music Department is also currently preparing for the final soirèe of the year, which is held on Wednesday 19th September at 7pm in the College Theatre.
