St Kilda Football Club
Student Workshop
On Monday 2 March, four St Kilda Football club players ran an AFL clinic for 8.1 and 8.2 students during their PE class.
The students were lucky enough to be coached by the players and then participate in a Q&A session with the players.
It was fantastic to welcome back Ryan Byrnes (SJC Year 10, 2017) as one of the players selected to present the clinic. He gave our students a great insight into what it took him to become an AFL listed player.
A big thank you to Nathan Thompson, Max King, Leo Connolly and Ryan Byrnes for taking the time to attend.
This year, St James College begins its exciting partnership with the St Kilda Football Club Next Generation Academy. Enrolled athletes in Year 7 and 8 will receive elite coaching from the Saints in order to take the next step with their AFL careers.
Students involved in the Next Generation Academy are provided an entry point to AFL talent pathways such as Interleague Teams, TAC Cup and St Kilda Football Club’s Elite Talent Program.
The NGA beings the first week of Term Two. We wish all students involved the very best of luck.
