Higher School Certificate 2022

As this article is published, the HSC still has two more days to go. While most of our Year 12 cohort have finished, we still have 39 young men who have to complete one more exam. Our students go through all the way to the last exam with 13 young men to sit the last exam of the HSC, Design and Technology. This is the end of a chapter for these students. While over the course of the year we have seen them grow and mature, there is a natural end to this cycle. Some of our students were ready to leave months ago - this is normal - while others are sad to be leaving. There is no right or wrong way to feel; mixed emotions are to be expected.

As our Year 12 cohort prepare to leave for the last time, I am sure that they will reflect with fond memories of all the good times they had together here at the College. They will remember their favourite teacher or class; those special moments that brought them together like Founder’s Day, Swimming and Athletics carnivals. It may have been representing the College in sport, theatre, music or debating. It could have been the opportunities afforded to them through SOL service or an immersion, but I am sure the realisation and opportunity that the school affords them to turn up each day to be with their mates, is starting to dawn on them. They will now need to make the effort to catch up. Some of these friendships will remain for a lifetime and for that I am sure they are grateful.

On behalf of all the staff here at the College, I wish the graduating class of 2022 all the best for the future. May God Bless you all and may you always stop and take the time to look around and find God in all things.
