Term 4

Welcome back to our students, staff and community members for what is sure to be an incredibly busy Term 4, with many exciting events to look forward to!

This term commenced with a Curriculum Day, focusing on Wellbeing and Engagement for staff and students. Staff participated in the following sessions:

Mind Body Brain Performance Institute:

Paul Taylor

The Science of Mental Fitness

In this stimulating talk, Paul explored the neurobiological underpinnings of good mental fitness and gave a range of practical, actionable strategies that we can all implement daily so that we can live more in harmony with our ancient genome and move up the mental fitness continuum.

 PE Made Easy:

Airlie Tudhope

Teachers had fun learning some new games that they’ll be able to share with their students:

  • Team Building Activities
  • Warm-Up Activities
  • Fitness Games
  • Brain Break Activities (10-15 minute) games that teachers can run with their students for a quick break before going back to class to continue their school work.

Resources From The Wellbeing Team

Triple P Program

The Victorian Government has supported access to the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program since June 2020. All families in Victoria can do FREE Triple P programs to help support every child’s emotional wellbeing and every family’s mental health.

Fear-Less Triple P is for families seeking to help their children learn to manage and reduce anxious feelings. It isn’t about eliminating fear altogether – sometimes, fear protects us. Instead, it’s about giving families a toolbox of strategies, skills, and knowledge to manage anxious feelings and stop unnecessary worrying. Fear-Less Triple P is based on extensive research with families of anxious children by clinical psychologists.

  • Help children develop their own toolkit of coping skills to overcome anxiety.
  • Break the cycle of anxiety and avoidance, in a safe and gradual way.
  • Understand what’s within your control to change.
  • Improve your relationship with your children.
