Mass of Thanksgiving and Cadet Ceremonial Parade

The Chevalier Thanksgiving Mass and Cadet Parade will take place on Sunday October 23. This is a day of compulsory attendance for students in Years 7-11.

On this special school day, students will need to be in full winter school uniform with Cadets in Ceremonial Dress. All students are requested to be at school by 9.00am and to proceed immediately to Homeroom for roll call.

At 9:30 am, the Mass of Thanksgiving will commence in the Chevalier Centre. Parents are cordially invited to attend Mass.

Immediately following the Thanksgiving Mass, all Cadets will be asked to assemble in the West Stadium where a final check regarding all aspects of dress will take place. Cadets with uniform deficiencies may run the risk of not been able to participate in the parade. Cadets will then be directed to the Main Oval, where final parade markings will be set out. The Parade will be held on the Main Oval unless otherwise advised.

Students and families are highly encouraged to bring lunch items to consume in the break between the Thanksgiving Mass and Cadet Ceremonial Parade.

The Ceremonial Parade will still start at 12 noon and will conclude at approximately 1.45pm.

Homeroom will then occur in respective classrooms with attendance rolls marked. The Cadets may have a short debrief in the Chevalier Centre (East Stadium) immediately following the parade prior to attending Homeroom.

The Cadet Ceremonial Parade is a day in which the Monivae community recognises the

achievements of its unique Cadet Unit. The Cadet parade is an important part of the tradition of Monivae College and a day in which the Monivae community marks a point of difference with pride.

If a student cannot be in attendance on Sunday October 23, an email, phone call or written letter to me is required by 9am on Friday October 21, clearly outlining the reason for non-attendance.

Students not here for the Mass and Parade will be required to attend school on Monday October 31, as a full day, commencing at 9am. These students must meet in the Study Hall and bring ample schoolwork to complete as well as morning tea/lunch.
