School Advisory Council

The School Advisory council (SAC) met onsite at 2pm on Wednesday the 19th of October.

This was the last scheduled meeting before our AGM, which is to be held onsite at 5pm on Wednesday the 16th of November.

As with all SAC meetings, Monica shared her Principal's Report and the minutes of our previous meeting were passed. Child Safety is always discussed.

During this meeting Monica shared all of the wonderful things that have been going on at St Joseph’s since our last meeting. There are far too many exciting things to individually mention so I have attached a link to the Principal’s report. Principal’s Report October 2022.docx

Monica also shared the marketing report that was prepared by Dr Stephen Holmes. It was wonderful to be able to see and hear the things that the whole school community feels that we do well at St Joseph’s. It was also fantastic to have a clearer idea of what the school community  suggested to help us to continue to grow and improve.

Monica also presented the MACS 2030 Strategic Plan. MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World

Jenny Todd (our wellness leader) shared a presentation on the Fathering Project, which is an exciting new initiative that has been introduced to St Joseph’s. Jenny has sent all of the information in regards to the Fathering Project via Operoo and you will also find further information about this fantastic initiative in the wellness section of our school Newsletter.

The  possible change to the school sports shorts was again discussed. Megan is currently in discussions with Beleza in regards to this and we will look forward to an update at our AGM.

Thank you to Adriana for sharing the details of the upcoming Grade 6 Graduation evening.

The preparation for the joint school Fete with Sorrento Primary School to be held in 2023 has been added to the agenda.

Please know that the members of the SAC are very grateful for the privilege of representing our school community. As our next meeting will be our AGM we would truly love anyone who has an interest in joining the SAC to please reach out to Monica via email at moshannassy@sjsorrento.catholic.edu.au.

If you are unable to commit to becoming a member of the SAC but have an item that you would like to be added to our Agenda please email Monica or speak in person with any of the current members.

We would truly love you to join the SAC and help us to make St Joseph’s the best school and community that it can possibly be!
