Welcome BBQ
The school was opened to our families on Wednesday 15th February to connect and have some fun. It was a great turnout, with many families and staff enjoying the lovely weather and activities. Miss Bernie, Mrs Marsden and Mrs Lloyd did some fabulous face painting; Mr Tabbernor, Mr Gross, Mr Wilson and Mr Dion played some games on the oval; there was a bouncy castle; lolly guessing competition and prizes given out. Families were also given an opportunity to go on a school tour. Thank you to Boyd Griffen, Mathew Smith, Mrs Sharpe and Mrs Griffen for an awesome sausage sizzle and to the P&C members who attended.
A massive thank you to all staff who helped out to make the afternoon a success!
Aboriginal Education Group meeting
Our first meeting for the year was held last week. I am very grateful to the 10-15 staff members who meet twice per term to plan events, embed learnings and cultural perspectives across stages, purchase resources, and celebrate student success. Thank you to the following people who have taken on positions this year:
Coordinator - Jodie Pritchard
Secretary - Catherine Thompson
Resources - Antonietta Sharpe
Events co-coordinator - Jess Hodder, Bree Smith, EJ Snowden
Communicator - Krissie-Lee Cartwright
Last week Mrs Edwards and Mrs Hargraves attended Sista Speak training, and
Mr Tabbernor and Mr Wilson attended BroSpeak training in Bathurst. We look forward to these programs starting in the school.
The photos below are of our yarning circle at school - the plants are thriving :)
Our next meeting is Thursday 9 March at 8.15am-8.45am in the school café. Families and community members are welcome.
