Nationally or Interstate Assessed Languages Course

If your child has strong skills in Languages other than English, they may be interested in doing a NIAL (Nationally or Interstate Assessed Languages) course. The information from TASC is below. Please have your child contact Jane Morrison if they are interested.

These courses are designed for learners who are background speakers of a language or who have extensively studied it as a second language. These courses require that a learner have at least 200 hours of instruction in the language. These courses are not taught, so individual students will need to conduct their own exam preparation with the assistance of their school.

IB Theatre Excursions

As part of their Theatre courses both Year 11 and Year 12 classes will venture out of the classroom this week and next.

This Friday afternoon Year 12 will visit the TMAG as part of their Collaborative Theatre Project. The class will undertake a creative exploration of selected artefacts and artworks throughout the museum as potential stimulus for making theatre. The outcomes of these beginning points will be shared with audiences in Week 12. Students will bus to and from the museum during class time.

On Monday February 27, the Year 11 IB Theatre students will travel to the Theatre Royal and Hedberg buildings to enjoy a tour of our unique and historic theatres. The tour will enable students to explore the Mainstage and Studio performance spaces as well as venture backstage to learn about all facets of making and performing professional theatre.  Students will bus to and from the theatre during class time.
