L@F24+ Program Update
As we settle into the 2023 school year, our Learning @ Friends' 24 Plus (L@F24+) Program Working Groups are starting to reconvene to consider key program considerations, decision making and implementation plans.
Yesterday, 26 Secondary Learning Teams involving over 70 teaching staff met to:
- Develop curriculum, for specific learning areas/courses, that are engaging and challenging, and within the new campus structure, curriculum frameworks and timetabling;
- Ensure the curriculum matches our Purpose & Concerns and embeds the teaching of Quaker Values;
- Build a scope and sequence for specific learning areas/courses, that are integrated across year levels;
- Determine resources needed to implement the curriculum; and
- Make recommendations on all of the above to the relevant Working Party and Program Team.
As we prepare for the start of 2024, these important Learning Teams will gather regularly on Wednesdays to progress the key aspects listed above.
As Nelson has mentioned, the Staff Leadership appointments have progressed and we have commenced advertising for the Deputy Head of Campus for Years 7&8 Pastoral Care and Deputy Head of Campus Year 9. These roles can be viewed on our employment section of the website.
Shortly, separate surveys will be sent to staff (within the next week), students and parents (within the next two weeks), to gather specific feedback and thoughts on the Program. We appreciate your feedback and input as we consider key decisions on the learning program at Friends’.
As usual, information can be found at the L@F24+ Program webpage and queries can be sent to us via the online enquiry form. The online enquiries are received by myself, our Program Coordinator, Lyn Tunbridge and Director of Community Engagement, Bill Avery.
We look forward to sharing Program Stream discussions and considerations over the coming weeks. Thanks to those who are participating in and supporting the program development.
Warm regards,
Shaun

2023 Student Residential Address and Other Information Collection
The Australian Government Department of Education would like to notify you that they have requested the School to provide students and their family's residential address and other information. Under the Australian Education Regulation 2013, the School is required to provide the department with the following information about each student at the school:
- Names and residential addresses of the student’s parent(s) and/or guardian(s)
- Student residential address (excluding student names)
- Whether the student is a primary or secondary student (education level)
- Whether the student is boarding or a day student (boarding status).
The School collects the above information by generating a unique and unidentifiable – student reference number (SRN) for each student record. The school only uses the SRN for this collection. It is not allowed to be used for any other purpose. The number only indicates to the department that each record provided is for one student.
Further information can be viewed here.
We request that all parents/guardians please ensure their child’s and family's residential information is up-to-date in Operoo. Please click here to check and if necessary, to update.
