Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Anhad

For being a motivated learner who is always focused and ready to take on tricky learning tasks with a positive attitude! Anhad always does his best and a little bit more in his own learning, but also takes it one step further by helping his peers! Well done Anhad!

Prep N

Riyaan

For being a resilient learner who bounces back from challenging situations to happily continue to learn.  Riyaan is a great role model for his peers as he follows our WOW’s and always does his best and a little more.  Well done Riyaan.

For being a curious learner who thinks deeply about his learning and searches for the answers around the room. He often asks clarifying and interesting questions which enhance whole class learning experiences. Well done

For being a motivated learner who is committed to making our classroom a place of learning. Araina has been a strong leader in our classroom taking on jobs of responsibility and modelling to others the expected ways of working. Well done Araina on being a responsible learner in our classroom, we are lucky to have you!

For being a creative learner who has been using her imagination during writing. This was shown when Claudia wrote a narrative.  Claudia has been displayed a positive attitude towards her learning and gives all learning tasks a go.

For being a resilient learner in maths last week. Haala never gave up when she was challenged. She showed determination to keep working at the ‘less than’ game to create 3 digit numbers.

Rey has also been managing distractions in the classroom very well.

For being a resilient learner, and adjusting extremely well to a new classroom environment.  You have approached challenges with a positive attitude even when you have been unsure, and you have never given up.  An example of this is when you succeeded in the boat making challenge even though it wasn’t easy!  You chose your word for the year to be courage, and you have already demonstrated this!  Well done Ulia - keep up the great effort!
