Student Reports

On Friday your children will bring home their End of Semester One Report and Student Portfolio. Please take the time to read the Report while making reference to the Portfolio so as to gain a clear picture of your child’s achievements.

I’m sure you will take the time and opportunity to celebrate with your child his/her successes. I hope you enjoy exploring the Student Portfolios before returning them to the class teachers next term.

Mid-Year Learning Expo

The talents of our children were on display for all to see at our Mid-Year Learning Expo last night where our children excitedly presented aspects of their learning.

Thank you to all families took the time to visit the various exhibits. We hope it provided you with the opportunity to engage in the learning and teaching program at Corpus Christi School.

Photos and videos from the Expo can be viewed via our Facebook page at (see below). We would really appreciate your feedback on the success of the Expo so please feel free to comment on our Facebook page or send correspondence via email.

Black and White Day

Today we celebrated Black and White Day in honour of Mr Hyde. The aim of the day was to raise some money to donate to Mr Hyde and his family as he continues to recover. It was great to see all the children and staff and also some of our  parents get into the spirit of  the day by wearing Mr Hyde's favourite colours, black and white. It was an amazing effort by everyone.

Our motto was "Do It For Mr Hyde". And we sure did! Thank you so much for your extremely generous donations to this wonderful cause. We have raised the amazing amount of $1125 which we will pass on to Mr Hyde and his family.

As a special surprise for Mr Hyde, who is snooping and reading the newsletter every week, watch the video below to see how we ended the day!

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability

What is the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data? Schools must now complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) every year. It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or ‘help’ at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disability. As of 2018 this will replace the Students with Disabilities funding module. For more information please read the document attached to this newsletter.

Building Program

At last a builder has been appointed for the next stage of our building program. Our current Library and Italian room will undergo an interior redesign and refurbishment to become our new Year 1/2 Learning Community. During the school  holidays the builders plan to set up the work site and demolition work of the interior of the rooms will commence at the beginning of Term 2.  Exciting times ahead!

Interschool Sports

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 Corpus Christi Soccer and Football Teams on reaching the Footscray District Primary School Interschool Sports grand final. Our Soccer team players are now the 2018 Premiers and the Football Team players are proud runners up!

Congratulations also to all the children who participated in Netball and Teeball matches throughout the season. It's always great to hear that our students have played their best and are good sports!

Welcome Back!

Next term we welcome back Mrs Danielle Camerota who is returning from maternity leave. Danielle will be working on Wednesdays (Prep - Year 4 Literature classes) and on Fridays (Year 5/6M).

Thank you to Mrs Nathalie Fraser and Mrs Catrina Anderson who have been taking on those roles during Terms 1 and 2.

School Closure Day Term 3

In Term 3 on Thursday August 9th there will be a school closure day as staff undertake a Professional Development day. Children will not attend school on that day.

Thank you from the Staff

On behalf of the staff at Corpus Christi,  I wish to thank all the parents in our wonderful school community who have been incredibly supportive with prayers, kind words and actions during this very difficult term. We have all aimed to keep things as normal as possible for the children and the community support we have received has helped us all to achieve our goal. The support for us and Mr Hyde and his family is greatly appreciated by all.

Please keep up your prayers for Mr Hyde as he continues his treatment and recovery.

Best wishes to everyone for a very happy, safe and relaxing holiday.

God bless
