2019 Planning

Our planning for 2019 is well underway in regards to staffing and class structure. If any family knows that they will not be returning in 2019 I ask you to make contact with the school office as soon as practical.

Building Update

We are very excited that the new Year 1/2 Learning Area is nearing completion. As mentioned previously Stage 2 which involves the refurbishment of the current Prep Learning Area and the development of our new Library Discovery Centre will then commence.

A letter will be sent to all Prep and Year 1/2 parents once we have the handover date finalised so that parents will know where their children will be moving to for the last few weeks of term. Rest assured plans are well underway for a smooth transition.

16 Hands Incursion

16 Hands is a Community Education Program created to educate primary aged children about the thoroughbred horse. Supported by Racing Victoria, this free and unique incursion program is offered to primary school children in metropolitan Melbourne. The program gives children the opportunity to learn about thoroughbred horses through an interactive and engaging visit.

Next Monday, 29th October, all  children will have the opportunity to learn about horse health, anatomy and some interesting horse facts when we are visited by a thoroughbred horse known as Bare!

Bare is a 6 year old gelding whose racing name was Barely Made It. He is now a Clerk of the Course horse. The one-hour visit concludes with every child having the opportunity to pat Bare.

Art Show 2018

Save the date for our biannual Art Show to be held on Friday November 16,  6:00  -8:00pm.

The Art Show will showcase the children's art work for this year.  It is a wonderful opportunity to see your own child's work and that of the other students in the school.

We will also be auctioning a canvas completed by each class.  This is an exciting part of the night and  will commence at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing all families and friends on the night.

I would also ask for volunteers on the morning and afternoon of the show to help pin the work up.  Any time you are available to pop in would be much appreciated. Please register your interest on Care Monkey.

The school closure day for Term 4 is on Monday 5th November for staff professional development.  Children do not attend school on that day.

Summer Uniform

As of this week it is expected that all children will be wearing their correct summer uniform. Children are also expected to wear their school hat during morning recess, lunch time and outdoor PE lessons. Children who do not have their hat at school will be expected to play in the shaded areas.

Zooper Doopers

Our Social Justice Leaders will be selling Zooper Doopers at lunchtime on Fridays.  The Zooper Doopers cost $1.00 each and all proceeds will go towards our Social Justice initiatives this term.

Have a wonderful week
