It is hard to believe that the Boarding year is almost over. We have battled homesickness, COVID, flu and cold season and other difficulties that come from living away from home. However, I look at everything the students have gained and it confirms how great boarding is for young men and women to grow.  Friendships, self-confidence, learned experiences, shared experiences, appreciation for home, self-management skills and understanding of others just to name a few.

Thank you to all parents for entrusting your young adults to us and we look forward to working with you next year to assist our new Year 12’s to complete their final year with us.

Boarding Survey.

In the interests of continuous improvement  I will be emailing a survey to all 2022 Year 11 and Year 12 parents regarding our Residential Program. Please take the time to respond so we can look at ways to improve or build on what we do successfully.

Residential Activities

Congratulations to all our Year 11 new Skippers. We shall offer the opportunity next term to our new Year 12’s, so please keep an eye out for that.  I am committed to ensuring the Residential Activities area grows and ask parents to support us in that by encouraging their boarders to participate in at least one activity or sport to get a bit of breathing space from the College. We shall have our Residential Activities Planner out early next year ready for the start of the year. While we aim to keep the cost of activities down, we will be offering greater opportunities for students to get to shows, Perth Fringe festival and the like. Should you be aware of any great things that would suit Year 11 and 12’s (for example

4WD shows in Perth etc) please don’t hesitate to send me an email.

We have had a ball this week (check out Facebook) our Xmas dinner was extraordinary and out basketball comp on Tuesday night has left a few of us stiff and sore but was so much fun. We have old peoples bingo on tonight and can't wait to see you all on Friday.

Uniforms and Haircuts

Our current Year 11’s will be our College leaders next year. We have high expectations that they will mentor the new Year 11’s  and  model not only excellent behaviour but also personal presentation. Please ensure your child has fresh uniforms and a haircut that fits into the guidelines. No mullets, bullets, curtains or undercuts please. We have high expectations of personal presentation to prepare our students for their transition to the workforce.

Many uniforms require replacement, so please contact the Cunderdin Coop as soon as possible to allow for delivery.

Can I please encourage our new Year 12's to return to the College as early as possible after 4:00pm on Tuesday 31 January 2023. There will be new rooms to find and unpack, meet and greet new Year 11's and prepare for the start of a new year.

Gratitude

A big thank you to the parents that work closely with us to make the students opportunity here at the College shine. To my staff, both Administration, Kitchen, Supervisory and Domestic - You are awesome! And last but not least thank you to the students who make me smile everyday and coming to work such a pleasure. I wish all of you a blessed holiday season and look forward to 2023!
