A physically active culture is the cornerstone to positive wellbeing. A person’s attitude to sport and physical activity is often shaped by their experiences as a child or adolescent. Our programs are founded on creating enjoyable and positive learning experiences in skill acquisition and physical literacy. Our team of experienced and passionate coaches are committed to creating welcoming and inclusive spaces, a mindset of endeavour, goal setting and personal achievement, and a culture that values healthy habits and physical activity to support broader wellbeing and performance outcomes for life.
In 2023 Clayfield College Sport and Activities programs will provide students with the opportunity to find their passion in sport through participation in a wide range of activities. Clayfield College will continue to participate in Andrews Cup (Girls Years 2 to 6), Britton Shield (Boys Years 2 to 7), QGSSSA (Girls Years 7 to 12), school-based Interhouse competitions and is hopeful to introduce a selection of club sports throughout the year.
Our Co-curricular programs are transitioning to opportunities for Term 1 2023 sports and activities and parents are invited to register their daughter/son.

Britton Shield - Aquathlon
On October 28 Clayfield College hosted the inaugural Britton Shield Aquathlon. I would like to personally thank the contingent of 17 aquathletes who took on the challenge of a run, swim, run. Our aquathletes competed over a range of distances in very hot and testing conditions. I acknowledge the boy’s efforts and commitment to their preparation and representing the College with honour. They are role models to others by giving everything for a bigger cause and playing their part by contributing to the team. Congratulations!
Britton Shield - Cricket
On November 2 Clayfield College hosted the Britton Shield Cricket carnival held at Toombul Cricket Fields. Despite the high winds blowing over stumps and boundary markers the boys embraced the spirit of good sportsmanship and had a great day. The under 8s were rewarded for their regular training attendance with an undefeated day. One of the highlights were co-captains Oliver and Charlie amassing 33 runs of one 5-ball over. The under 8s were presented with their trophy at the end of the carnival. The under 10s were ably led by Aarav and managed a win over an Ipswich Junior Grammar team but found eventual winners Moreton Bay Boys College a bigger challenge. All boys who regularly attended training and competed at the carnival should be commended.
