Maths Olympiad and Maths Games

Over the year, WGVPS competed in the APSMO Maths Olympiad and Maths Games national competitions. We had two teams of Year 5 and 6 students put their problem-solving skills to the test over five different events from April to September. Overall, our school was ranked above the national average (of hundreds of competing schools!), and we had three students from Maths Olympiad place in the Top 20%. A fantastic result and we are so proud of all who competed. Each student who participated received a certificate acknowledging their efforts and dedication, and the following students received a keepsake patch or trophy for their individual achievements:

Maths Olympiad:

Year 6

Gabe – Highest individual school score, Top 20%

Saffron – Top 20%

Dot – Top 20%

Year 5

Clancy – Encouragement Award for most improved score from Test 1 to Test 5

Maths Games:

Mia – Developing a positive attitude towards Mathematics

Year 5

Bill – Developing a positive attitude towards Mathematics

Lost Property

We have some lost property in the front office that has yet to be retrieved from their owners. If any of the items photographed below belong to you, please collect them from our School Office.

This term we challenge you to crunch the rainbow for Crunch&Sip® by making a rainbow in your classroom. Eating different coloured fruits and vegetables provides lots of different vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. Which is why crunching on a rainbow will help kids get the right balance of nutrients they need for a healthy body.
